Warren Pear Tree

Description

Warren is a dessert pear with the kind of texture that turns a simple piece of fruit into something luxurious. Its medium-to-large, long-necked pears develop pale green to golden-brown skin, sometimes warmed by a red blush, while the flesh inside is exceptionally smooth, juicy, and buttery without the gritty stone cells found in many pears. The flavor is sweet, mild, and refined, making Warren excellent fresh, sliced onto cheese boards, poached, baked into tarts, or served in salads.
Beyond its eating quality, the variety is highly regarded for resistance to fire blight, an important advantage in many home orchards. The tree’s spring blossoms bring classic pear beauty before the late-summer crop begins to mature. For gardeners seeking a resilient pear that still delivers genuinely gourmet fruit, Warren offers an especially appealing balance of disease resistance, storage quality, and memorable texture.
Plant in full sun and well-drained soil. OHxF333 rootstock creates a manageable semi-dwarf tree. Train a strong branch framework, prune for light and airflow, and harvest mature fruit before it becomes fully soft so it can finish ripening off the tree.
Warren is self-fruitful and can set fruit alone. Another compatible European pear nearby can increase pollinator activity, may improve overall production, and adds another flavor and harvest window.
